About the Journal

Journal Ekológia (Bratislava) – International Journal for Ecological Problems of the Biosphere is an international scientific journal that aims to publish the latest results of ecological research, particularly in the field of landscape ecology, ecosystem ecology, population ecology, nature protection and human impact on ecosystems. It offers articles of theoretical, methodological as well as practical fields aiming at the landscape conservation and planning, dynamics of natural processes and landscape change at the local, regional and national levels.

The journal was edited with the title:

  • 1982 Ekológia (ČSSR)
  • 1990 Ekológia (ČSFR)
  • 1993 Ekológia (Bratislava)

The papers published in the Journal are expected to be of complex nature. They should address theoretical, methodological as well as practical issues related to ecological problems.

In this context, the contributions should address the following five thematic domains:

  • population ecology
  • ecosystems ecology
  • landscape ecology
  • nature conservation
  • human impact
